Green Carpet had the pleasure of blending the insatiable energies of a music man with heart (groom Travis Reynolds), and an innovative foodie who celebrates family and romance (bride Kate Boswell)... resulting in a backyard wedding bash, that rocked the hills of La Canada.  The stunning location, you see pictured, was at the brides' family home.  Our mission was to sustain the natural beauty of the property, while weaving the intentions of Kate + Travis into each thoughtful detail.

At our first meeting, Kate expressed her love for gourmet, creative tacos and sliders.  Our challenge was feeding 150 people in her parents backyard, elegantly, with her next love- food trucks.  As I dove into our list of vendors, naturally there were reservations on who could REALLY pull this off... the challenge was finding the truck who could rock it... Miho Gastrotruck, was our number one choice from the beginning!  A farm to table concept that celebrates fresh, local, and thoughtfully sourced ingredients to create a one-of-a-kind foodie experience.  The menu consisted of a taco + slider bar (of course) with hand crafted sauces +  fixings.  Dessert was nailed by the Buttermilk Truck who arrived with red velvet pancakes, mini bricks and churro donut holes- beyond insane!  It actually doesn't stop there... instead of a cake, Precious from Sugarjones brought her A-game with an assortment of her award winning mini cupcakes, parfaits and wee desserts, that sent even the most discerning guest into a blissful food comma.

In addition to all of the deliciousness, the guests got their groove on with flowing cocktails from our Mixologist, Bridget Sullivan at The Mixer Co.  The signature cocktail of the evening was a "Mojo Rising", Blackberry Vodka Mojito, along with a Raspberry Rosemary Martini- let's just say, there might have been a few Uber calls, courtesy of the exceptional staff at  Jeffrey Valet.

The floral design + linen choices came next, our favorite bespoke element!  In getting to know our couple their love for rich tones, the Fall season and earthy touches (Capricorn + Taurus) seem to play a large part in our design board. Mrs. Boswell, the mother of bride, had a gorgeous collection of vintage colored glassware that we had to incorporate.  A long time friend of the family, Rochelle at Verdugo Florist, was instrumental in executing the floral design.  The colors were specific in the heart of our bride, and in an effort to manifest her dream of an anti-pink Fall fantasy, we were on a mission to find aubergine viburnum berries- not an easy task, but well worth the effort!  They added the perfect touch of deep color and texture to each place setting, while popping on the flax linen napkin.  The antique rentals provided by Rainy at Circa Vintage Rentals culminated our vision, while setting the unique backyard setting onto another level of elegance and sophistication. We thank her and her wonderful family for their contribution!

The gorgeous photos, enclosed were taken by One Love Photography.   They captured the moments that were the most memorable, and brought us back to that magical day... we thank them for showing up ready to be apart of, what truly was, an exceptional team!   #becomingmrsreynolds + #mojorising

Soolip has been a wonderful resource over the years and a
pioneer in the printing and sustainably chic world of paper.  The
art of paper takes on new, impressionable meaning with anything
Wanda Wen touches.  I am grateful, humbled and feel so blessed
to be have been given such a treat.  Not something I would have
splurged on for myself in this chapter, as we have just been blessed
with a new baby.

We look forward to designing a beautiful set of personal stationery,
and celebrating the many reasons why handwritten correspondence
consummates the ultimate hostess, wife and mommy!

Green Wedding Show

As we enter 2009 Green Carpet is thrilled to announce our collaboration with Fortress Features to
produce a Green Wedding television show. Dana Morgan, principal of Green Carpet, will host
the show and feature a bride and groom through a series of eco-friendly wedding choices.

The intentions are to break through the stigma that has been placed on what it means to celebrate
Green. We hope to shed light on how to work with a modest budget and produce an elegant, chic
wedding that so happens to embody conscious, sustainable choices that are in alignment with our planet.

The inquiries we get, are often brides and corporations that assume having a sustainable event means
showcasing their favorite pair of Birkenstocks, eating tofu wraps while to The Beatles and enjoying
the essence of Patchuli. While we love The Beatles and all of the above mentioned, can be great on their own we try to balance an organic sense of progressive style with modern elegance and often what occurs is magical.
Esstentially, we've traded in our Birkenstocks and are stepping into our Louboutins one quality choice
vs. quantity choice at a time.

Please feel free to call the Green Carpet office if you have a discerning collegue, friend or famiy
member you think might be a good fit for the show.

*Note, all current Green Carpet clients, our new venture will not impact our curent calendar of events
or your privacy.

Green Carpet, "The Art of the Sustainable Holiday"

The holidays at Green Carpet are filled with wonderful, eco-chic design options
that are easy to duplicate... as seen on our recent SPRIG segment, the transformation of a sustainable holiday tabletop can be accomplished with a modest budget of around $100. We are well aware of the budget constraints many of our clients face this year, hence our desire to share how easy some of these DIY tricks really are...
  1. The green chalk candles you see as place settings can also be used as guest favors, fun table games (supply chalk and make-up a fun game to create interesting table conversation) and as ambiance for a candle lit table (also saving energy on lighting and Co2 output).
  2. Bellani apples (as seen in the glass canister) are a wonderful addition and can not only be used for a beautiful centerpiece but also as a place setting and guest favors by adding a small ribbon on the top and allowing your guest to hang them as an ornament. These apples were vegetable died and can be purchased by the dozen from Green Carpet by sending us an e-mail with subject: Bellani Apples.
  3. The table runner was handmade from vintage fabric we had left over from a previous event and we decided to line it with white vinyl so it could be reused. We feel creating versatility allows sustainable design elements to flourish for multiple occasions and not just one event.
  4. The mirrored place settings we bought at an estate sale for $5.00 (many of our favorite finds and accessories are found this way. Don't be intimidated to scout out your local resale shops and estate sales as many vintage items can be obtained that way and have lasting quality due to the integrity and craftsmanship. Conscious consumerism :)!
  5. The centerpiece was also purchased at an estate sale for $3.00 and came with hanging votive candles that we removed and instead hung crystals by fishing wire and pained white to create a contrast with the dark wood. Using crystals and candle light make for a beautiful combination as the crystals give off a stunning layered, illuminating effect giving the room a magical, holiday feeling.
All of the items mentioned are available for purchase through Green Carpet. Please feel free to send us an e-mail with your questions about how to duplicate a look or allow us to transform your space or event for the holidays while lessening your carbon footprint.
